My entry for Jigsaw canvas show -- 2015

This event is happening at the Sunnyvale Art Gallery located at 251 W. El. Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087. The Exhibition takes place from Jan 12- Mar 31, 2015. With the opening reception set on Sat, Jan 24,2015 3-5 pm and closing reception on Sat March 28, 7-9 pm.

This is a Fundraising event and the proceeds go to the Sunnyvale Community Services and Second Harvest Food Bank.

If you happen to be in and around this area then don't forget to stop by the gallery and enjoy some local art.

My painting at the Bean Scene Cafe

This painting is up at Bean Scene Cafe located in downtown Sunnyvale, CA. ( SAC Artist of the Month) from Dec 22,2014 to Jan 7, 2015.  This painting won first place at the monthly competition in Nov 20, 2014. The monthly theme was "Abstracts".

My painting at the City Attorney's office, Sunnyvale

Hello All,

If you are visiting the Sunnyvale 's City Attorney's office,  you can get to view  my painting " Feline Avatar" . It will be on display for 2 months i.e February & March,2014. 

This painting is a mixed media painting. It is inspired by Cubism. I like bright colors and these colors pop in a dark background. The texture you see on the painting is done by scrunching ( Yes ! scrunching is a word :) ) tissue paper, various Acrylic paints, collage techniques and markers were used to create this beautiful piece of art. This would go well in a kids/children's room or in the children's space in a library or in an after school office. This piece can also find a place in a Dentist/ Pediatric clinic/ office ( Kids get distracted with the colors, shapes and textures in the painting , making the job easier for Dentist/Pediatrician  :) , Adults also included)

Every Day is Earth Day !

Title: Bird's Eye View

Note: The above painting is created on a cereal cardboard box. I cut it to 4 by 4 size ( inches). Added 2 coats of white gesso. After it dries I added acrylic black color to the canvas. The triangles  in the painting are are left over acrylic paint  cut to that shape, added it  to give it some dimension. The eye in the painting is from a shampoo add that comes to my snail mail every Tuesday ( Junk mail)  and I had some left over scrapbook paper from an earlier project for the bird's body. I used Sakura's golden gel pen to add in the bird's legs and other features onto the painting. 

This project is my way of telling everyone  to  " Save the Planet."  

I believe " Every day is Earth Day" so think of unique ways to create art and make every day is Earth Day as a part of your lifestyle.

For the love of creatures beneath the sea

There may be some one  out there who eagerly look forward for my new post/painting. Also you might wonder if I ran out of subjects to paint. You might be wondering that her profile pic has a fish, she has a virtual aquarium, and there is already an abstract painting with more fishes. Well,  I have a confession to make --- I am obsessed with the sea and the creatures in it.

The painting below is inspired from an artist who is a marine life artist -- Robert Wyland  known simply as Wyland.  My first inspiration came when I had seen his show on KCSM. Then I visited his gallery at Laguna Beach, CA.  I was totally inspired with this visit  and ta da there is my next abstract  painting.

Finding Nemo.......

I was trying out abstract painting for the first time. I know that  I should have posted this long ago, before my other abstract paintings which I already posted, but  " Better late than never" right?  So coming back to the subject, this was my first abstract painting and also my  entry to the Sunnyvale Art Show that was held in June of 2011.
