Zendala Dare and Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces Challenge

This week at I am the Diva ( Laura Harms's blog) is guest blogger Erin Olson from Zendala Dare Challenge. This week's challenge at the Diva is we have to use Erin Olson's template provided to create a Zendala.

For this week's challenge I  created a Zendala on my iPad. I haven't been tangling for a couple of weeks and my hands were itching to tangle ! I generally tangle with some soft New Age Music.

Here is my entry for this week's challenge:

Apps used: Sketchclub
Medium: iPad Art

And here is my entry for last week's challenge-- Guest Blogger Sandy Hunter challenged us to create a tile leaving some negative space ( white space). I found this challenge  very difficult as I am one of those artists who  has to fill the entire tile with tangles ( no white space) , so I had to really remind myself to not fill in the negative space with tangles. I decided to keep it simple for this challenge.

Title: Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces
Medium: Sakura Micron Pens
Please check out Laura's Blog : http://iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com/   if you want to participate or be inspired by other artists.

Looking forward to your comments. Thank you in advance for your time and response.

  1. Nice Jay u. I'm not familiar with Sketchclub. I assume it includes a stylus rather than only inserting preset shapes? Great result.

  2. Very interesting. I didn't know you could tangle on an iPad. I will certainly have to look into it. You made a nice zendala with it.

  3. When you said you did this week's challenge on your iPad, do you mean that your tangles are computer generated? However you did it, I like it. It looks like an elegant brooch.

  5. You added a lot of drama by placing your zendala on a black background. I especially like the twisted rope design right at the centre. Nice work.

  9. I have to check out the app! I do some art with Paper and ArtRage. I always found it difficult to control my strokes even with a stylus. This is fantastic!
